Nasrin Rafiq's educational background reflects her international outlook and background in languages and literatures. Having studied at Kabul University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Languages and Literatures in September 1984, Nasrin has developed a deep appreciation for language and literature, skills which have come in handy in her professional journey.Since her graduation from Kabul University in 1992, Nasrin has worked as a language teacher and interpreter in Italy/Turin and currently teaches English as a second language to foreign students at the Gender Global Academy Course, Gender, held at the Italian/Turin campus from September 2022- September 2022. Nasrin is also a participant in the course, and is currently working on her Diploma in Languages and Literature, Languages and Literature/Letters. Nasrin is used to working with a variety of students from different cultural backgrounds, and has found that her classroom experience has prepared her well for her future career in teaching English as a second language.Nasrin Rafiq is also a qualified qualified translator and has worked with a variety of translation projects, both for personal and business reasons. She is confident that her skills as a translator and interpreter will help her succeed in the ranks of teachers in English as a second language. Nasrin is a hard worker, and is eager to learn new things and work with others in order to contribute to the development of her city, Kabul.

Nasrin Rafiq has a Masters in Policy from the University of Pennsylvania. Nasrin Rafiq is also a member of The International Association of Women in Leadership (IAWL). Rafiq has worked in policy and women’s rights issues for over 15 years. Nasrin had a two year postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Utah as a research associate in the Program on Women, Work and Democracy. She has also held various posts at the World Bank’s Gender and Environment Innovation Unit, Theidem Architects Studio and at the universities of California, Los Angeles and Cambridge. Nasrin has contributed articles to a number of international journals, including the Ford Review, Journal of Planning and Development, Feminist Studies, Villager, PLoS One, and the International Journal of Women’s Politicking. Nasrin is traveling and three weeks ago gave a presentation on “ bridging analysis with action: A case study of gender mainstreaming at USAID/FAIDA” at the 10-year anniversary celebration of the From unobserved to observable conferences inPlanning and Development.
