He also led the development of AIChE's education and training programs, which helped keep the chemical industry afloat and attract the best talent to the company. Alger was also a Board Member at AIChE from January 2010 to December 2012. In this role, he had a direct impact on the research and development programs of AIChE, and he helped make AIChE one of the most advanced chemical organizations in the world.Alger was also President at AIChE from January 2020 to December 2020. This position saw Alger lead the entire AIChE organization, from research to policy.
