📖 Summary
I am passionate about helping Airbnb progress our vision: by focusing on creating authentic experiences for travelers, we may improve people's lives and support a prosperous society. Our potential for impact is both sociological, by connecting people of different backgrounds and allowing them to discover new communities, and economical, allowing our guests to patronize neighborhoods outside main commercial districts. We strive for everyone to feel a deep sense of belonging in this world. "We [at Airbnb] believe in a world where all seven billion of us can belong anywhere. At a time when we’ve been told to look at each other with suspicion and fear, you’re telling the world it’s O.K. to trust again.” - Brian Chesky, CEOGlobal Talent Strategy & Operations @ Airbnb connects people to unique travel experiences and encourages authentic connections to bring people together. From August 2015 to Present (5 months) Talent @ Airbnb connects people to unique travel experiences and encourages authentic connections to bring people together. At Airbnb, I focus on connecting talent with opportunity across many functions in San Francisco and Asia-Pacific. I partner closely with the leadership team to build our China team, create a consistent message to share regarding the Airbnb brand and culture and design new approaches to successfully engage passive talent. If you want to help innovate the future we live in and contribute to a world where there are no strangers - where you can deeply and genuinely connect with people of all backgrounds effortlessly - please reach out to me. From March 2015 to December 2015 (10 months) Lead Recruiter @ Nextbit is dedicated to making mobile devices more compatible with the way people actually live, work and play. --- One of Airbnb's core values is to be a cereal entrepreneur - to be driven to achieve the impossible and take risks. I did just that by trying the start-up life and joining Nextbit as their first and only Recruiter. I hired 5 people across Product, Engineering and Design; implemented Greenhouse; and standardized other recruiting operations such as referral incentives. In the end I returned to Airbnb. I realized that I am most passionate about disrupting the travel experience and being a part of a team of recruiters. Trying the start-up life gave me perspective of the impactful work I was doing at Airbnb, and I am so grateful to have been given the chance to return as their first boomerang ever in company history. I'd love to chat if you are considering Airbnb versus a small start-up - hopefully I can share some of the perspective I've learned.
