Applications include retail inventory, central ordering, customer loyalty programs, liquid product distribution, company e-store, refinery management, and mobile fueling. Development is done using java/J2EE, Oracle PL/SQL, and crystal reports. Applications also utilize BEA Weblogic, BEA Portal, and BEA Integration Suite. Obtained an extensive knowledge of extending the Salesforce.com application and of custom cloud development using the Force.com platform.
Research and Development Manager CABComm System - The CABComm is a Linux based in-cab computer system with messaging (Satellite, Cellular, and 802.11b), Scanning, GPS, on-board integration to truck control system, wireless Internet, Voice over IP, video on demand, and live television broadcast. Responsibilities included management of infrastructure deployment to 13 Pilot sites, design of application architecture, and oversight of 10 developers assigned to the project. In addition, activities included presentation of customer demonstrations, tradeshow representation, and acting as a liaison between Flying J and the hardware engineering firm. From November 2000 to December 2011 (11 years 2 months) Manager of applications development @ Manager Oracle HR/Payroll/Financials – Responsible for two separate Oracle ERP implementations related to the merger of Health Care Compare and First Health. Project included conversion of legacy data, systems analysis and design, as well as configuration and customization of Oracle Applications. Also managed relationships with outside consulting firms, Oracle Consulting, and Oracle support.
Manager Applications Development – Responsible for a team of twelve programmers that developed all client/server applications using Powerbuilder and Informix. Directed development of the initial company Internet and Intranet web sites. Group also created an imaging application with indexing capability that resulted in significant savings to the company.
Project Manager On-Line and EDI Mainframe Systems – Acted as team leader/project manager for group responsible for an on-line health claim adjudication system. Team was also responsible for routing, distribution, and processing claims received via EDI. New development projects included a Positive Pay system for check verification with several participating banks and several cross platform integration projects to link various other systems within the department.
Senior Programmer/Analyst EDI Development – Supported and developed EDI distribution systems with both Unisys A-series and Unix environments. Responsibilities within the Unix environment included researching and correcting data problems for information stored within an Informix database. Also worked scripted and supported processes used to route scanned images to be used by the new claim adjudication system. Mainframe responsibilities included design and development of routing and processing systems which interfaced with existing claims system. Development was done using COBOL.
