Mike founded China Centric in 2003, teaming with former RELTEC colleagues who established four integrated Chinese subsidiaries during the 1990's and building a business that had reached a $100M revenue run rate by 2000. Hawk Precision Components, where Mike had been President from 2001until 2003 became CCA's first client. China Centric has assisted over 200 companies since 2003 to develop and execute business strategies in China. China Centric has 28 professionals (21 in China and 7 in the U.S.) with offices in, Cleveland,, Shanghai, Zhuhai (near Hong Kong/Macau) and Taipei. From September 2003 to Present (12 years 4 months) President @ HPCG is a manufacturer of custom components for a wide range of industrial applications utilizing powder metallurgical technologies. HPCG operated five operating plants in the midwest. During Mike's leadership, the company started an integrated manufacturing subsidiary in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China to follow customers operating in China and to develop a sustainable operating/market platform in the world's fastest growing large market. From August 2001 to October 2003 (2 years 3 months) President, North America and Asia Pacific @ RELTEC was acquired from Reliance Electric Company in 1994 by an investor group including management and Kohlberg Kravis and Roberts. Mike was a member of the lead management investing group. Mike served as Vice President and General Manager of one of the principal operating divisions until 2006 when he became President, North America and Asia Pacific. In this capacity, Mike had responsibility for all sales, marketing, engineering, manufacturing and operating administrative activities for North America and Asia, including over 20 manufacturing locations and approximately 5,000 employees. Between 1994 and 2000, Mike led and managed the start-ups of four integrated China manufacturing subsidiaries and two development centers in four different cities in China (Guangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing and Chengdu.) Between 1994 and 2000, RELTEC grew from $450 million in annual revenue to $1.2B, went public on the NYSE and was subsequently acquired by GEC (U.K). From August 1994 to January 2000 (5 years 6 months) Various @ Reliance Electric was a major multinational manufacturer of industrial motors, controls and telecommunications equipment headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio. Mike joined Reliance immediately following graduate school as a financial analyst. Over the next seventeen years, Mike progressed through the roles listed below until Reliance was acquired by Rockwell International in 1993. Rockwell divested Relaince Comm-Tec, the company's telecommunications equipment subsidiary, to an investor group of management and KKR in a management buyout. Mike continued in a senior management role wth the divested company which was rebranded RELTEC Corporation.
