He has held several senior IT positions across multiple business domains, organizations and countries. In support of this focus, the role included the responsibility for the wholesale e-commerce activities within Rabobank International. The key deliverable has been the definition and execution of the GFM application strategy, which resulted in a rationalisation of the GFM application landscape.

Included implementing new core banking software, establishing regional backoffices, and agreeing global outsourcing arrangements with multiple vendors. The IDB Shared Services Center became operational in May 2005 and Michel was subsequently responsible for day to day IT Service Delivery and Backoffice Operations, while being responsible for delivering IT change for new initiatives such as new country implementations. Key focus has been on defining, implementing and running a sustainable global operating model to support our strategic business objectives.
