Michael OBrien was born on September 20, 1987, in Los Angeles, California. He has two older sisters and two younger brothers. He was taught at UCLA from 2005 to 2006 and at Claremont McKenna College from 2001 to 2005. Michael OBrien's undergraduate education focused on mathematics and physics. He earned a Masters in Mathematics from UCLA in 2005 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics from UCLA in 2013. In his doctorate, Michael OBrien focused on Computational Neuroscience at UCLA, which is a Department of Neuroscience that specializes in the study of nervous systems and their functions in health and disease. Michael OBrien has been involved in many research projects and has made many contributions to neuroscience and mathematics. He has been a panelist for many math and neuroscience conferences and has been the lead author or co-author of many papers in the areas of migraine, machine learning, and data science. Michael OBrien is currently a Professor at the University of California, Irvine and a member of the Mathematical Sciences Division at UCLA.
