I am a full-stack developer with a Bachelor of Science (CS major). I have a background in IT with around ten years of experience covering networking, server, consulting and user support in a managed services environment. I have a great blend of software and networking skills and I can build web apps using Ruby on Rails, JavaScript and HTML/CSS. I have a knack for solving technically oriented issues with a proven track record of delivering the best possible results for the clients I work with.DevOps Engineer/Developer @ From June 2015 to Present (7 months) Web Development Immersive student @ Overview This is a full time three-month course and covers the full stack of web development. Three major projects were delivered covering everything from the concept pitch through to front-end and back-end coding followed by a final demonstration to the class of the finished product. Project One – Car Garage A web app that allows people to post details of their cars to share with others. Users can put up photos and technical details of their cars, create and manipulate garages to put their cars into (analogous to photo albums) as well as gain access to detailed technical information about popular car makes and models to assist in completing their entries. Built using HTML5, CSS3, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript and Bootstrap Project Two – Bike Trip Planner (group project) An app that allows cyclists to pick a safe, bike friendly route for their commute. The route created includes bike paths and roads where bike lanes have been installed, subject to the proximity of these routes to the general direction of the trip. Priority will be given to these routes over others without this infrastructure. Performed as part of a team of three my primary role in this project was to develop the routing algorithm and to create and populate the database of bike tracks/lanes that the algorithm uses to find the route. The algorithm builds up a set of waypoints, which is then handed to the front end for route mapping. Built using HTML5, CSS3, Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, jQuery, and Canvas Project Three - ninety9cents An auction site that gets back to the grass roots of what online auctions should be - a simple, easy to use, no clutter way to list items for sale and to easily view and bid on other people's auctions. Accounts can be created easily and for free. Users are encouraged to start auctions at 99 cents as this generates the most interest and will generally result in a higher sale price.
