Born and raised in Manchester, England, Michael started his career in Corporate Finance in 1995. He moved up the corporate ladder and held a number of senior financial positions with 3M, Wernham Hogg and Sterling puppets. In 2001, he joined the then Salford based film production company, BOPBOIndustry of Motion Pictures and Film. After a successful transition period, during which the company grew from a small Production Company to a massive global business, the company went public in 2003 and Michael Farahat was appointed CEO. He held this position until 2007. Michael Farahat's spells as CEO of BOPBOIndustry of Motion Pictures and Film and as Executive Vice President at Wernham Hogg have been recognised by the company's board with a knighthood in 2006 and a life peerage in the 2007 Christmas Honours list. In 2007,oor he received the Award of Honour, the highest accolade available to an individual in the business, at the IFI Awards. In recognition of his strong commitment to the health and well-being of employees, Michael was also knighted in the 2007 George Best Award.In December 2007, Michael Farahat was presented with the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by the Prince of Wales.
