Melissa Winstanley's educational background and work readiness were first explored in an online survey she took in order to get a better understanding of her interests and goals. She enjoyed taking the online survey because it allowed her to get a general idea of her motivations for wanting to pursue a career in computer science. Additionally, her undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Washington gave her the knowledge and skills needed to pursue a career in this field.One of the primary reasons that Melissa wanted to pursue a career in computer science was because she found it to be extremely fulfilling, challenging, and engaging. She loves developing algorithms and working in a collaborative environment. In addition, she is passionate about teaching and advising computer science students in her spare time. Melissa also enjoys working with teams and building elaborate projects.Although she has a few years of experience in the field, Melissa is currently working on her PhD in Computer Science at the University of Washington studying algorithms, data structure, and security.
