I had the opportunity to learn the Sales and Marketing aspects of MongoDB while elevated to VP in Jan 2018. My role included managing sales teams in Greater New York City Area, as well as Being an Advisor at Honeycomb.io in San Francisco Bay Area. At MongoDB, I was responsible for implementing full stack observability from the ground up, consumed event data from any source with any data model, and collaborating with product managers to Troubleshoot and improve the production software. Honeycomb’s design flaw was that Sales Operations was not central to their problem solving solution. As a result, I was able to learn a great deal about how to sell and marketing a product to a larger audience.
