In 2007, Schachner played an important role in managing the issue of "ghetto tourism." In this issue, Schachner wrote an article pertaining to the industry of ghetto tourism and its effects on the Hungarian tourism sector.In 2008, Schachner was deeply involved in the management of the " Hungary Europe 2008 " science festival. This festival was held in Hungary, and was intended to spread awareness of science and technology in Hungary. Schachner was responsible for the organization and staging of the event, as well as the coordination of cultural events.In 2009, Schachner was a significant driver of the establishment of the " Austria in mourning " national awareness campaign. This campaign was aimed atraising awareness about the effects of the 2008 global financial crisis on Austria.In 2010, Schachner was a key player in the management of the " Faux Pas Europe 2010 " conference. This conference was aimed at exploring the variety of creative projects that have been launched in reaction to the 2008 global financial crisis.Since its establishment, the " International Institution for Manager Development " (IIMD) has been a valuable resource for both teachers and managers. Schachner has been a cooperating member of the IIMD faculty since its establishment in 1999.Since his appointment as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Arizona in 2008, Schachner has been working on a research project entitled " Nonprofit Organizations & Social Media: Bridging the Gap." This project is focused on understanding the behavior of nonprofit organizations and social media users in a critical 2002 social media environment.
