About Mawuli Adzoe

📖 Summary

Specialties: Ruby, AngularJSFull Stack Software Engineer @ I wrote the code that powers BitPesa's blockchain remittances to Tanzania. (https://bitcoinmagazine.com/20456/african-bitcoin-remittance-service-bitpesa-expands-tanzania/) Luckily BitPesa open-sourced the code on github.com You can find my fork of it at https://github.com/wallclockbuilder/selcom From October 2014 to January 2015 (4 months) NairobiSoftware Engineer @ Tollab is ballot spelt backwards. We were turning the campus election industry upside down. My friend and I were running the Linguistics Students Association on campus. Problem was we didn't have the 1,000USD we needed back then to print ballot papers for the association's executive election. I wrote software that we used to organise the election. It cost the association less than 100USD. A year 90 percent of elections on campus don't use dead tree ballot paper anymore. They now use eVoting for elections in the University of Ghana student communtiy. Less dead tree paper used. Less cost. Much more sustainable. Results are declared in less than an hour instead of the usual 4 hours. That was one of the fun things I did on campus. Tollab Solutions is the company that I incorporated to receive payments from the over 50 student associations who wanted to buy the software. From January 2007 to September 2014 (7 years 9 months) Legon, Accra - GhanaFounder/CEO @ • Founded the company. • Built the Kitiwa bitcoin brokerage platform with Ruby, AngularJS, Redis • Processed over 100K USD in transactions • Served 250 clients across Ghana • Managed Product innovations and customer service • Educated the central bank of Ghana about bitcoin • Build relationship with mobile money businesses in Nigeria and Ghana • 1,800 transactions (600 of which were over the phone, 1200 automated by software I built) • Presented at 3 Bitcoin conferences • Invited as a panelist on bitcoin to the AITEC Banking & Mobile Money West Africa Conference (over 70 bank and central bank officials form the financial industry in Africa) • Organised bitcoin meetups in Accra, Ghana which is has membership of 120 people • Introduced and trained 2 employees about bitcoin From December 2013 to August 2014 (9 months) Accra, Ghana - West AfricaFounder/CEO @ Paybutton is a service designed to bring online payments to small African businesses who are currently unable to accept payments online since services like PayPal and Visa aren't available to them. We do this by providing a button that they can easily add to their websites. They can then start accepting bitcoin payments which we then pay in local currency directly into their mobile money accounts. - Check out a test version at http://paybutton.co/scef_dream - Built the bitcoin to local currency settlement engine with ruby(Sinatra), Redis, MongoDB and JavaScript(AngularJS) - Tested with about 7 NGOs before moving on to my next project: Kitiwa From November 2013 to June 2014 (8 months) Accra - GhanaAnalytics @ My job is to provide the answer to these questions: who is using our app. How long do they use it?
