About Matthew Kepnes

I started Nomadic Matt in September of 2014 as an adjunct professor at New York University (NYU). When I was hired as the President of the company, I realized that the continuing struggle of low-income people to afford to travel the world was one of the biggest unsolved problems in travel. To fill that gaping chasm, Nomadic Matt was born.Nomadic Matt connects people who want to travel the world, but can't due to financial restrictions, with travel-minded partner companies who can take them on trips of their dreams. We also partner with travel-friendly nonprofits to donate millions of dollars to help people travel the world.Since Nomadic Matt was founded, we have traveled to over 60 countries and seen everything from the Sistine Chapel to The Congo. We've also hiked, ridden bikes, and taken dog walks all over the world. In the course of our travels, we've met incredible people and seen some of the most beautiful places on earth.
🎓 Education
Matthew Kepnes holds a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Suffolk University, where he also graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History Teacher Education in 1999. Kepnes has worked in the business world as a business administrator and manager. He has also been a history teacher at University of Massachusetts Amherst. Kepnes has a strong desire to teaching and has been teaching history and teaching business administration and management for most of his career.
