Brief Comments:It was very exciting working with the IFC and staff in their Washington D.C. office. The project I worked on was a significant change to the way that IFC works and it was a great learning experience. I was able to work with a number of different parts of the IFC and learn how they work. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend working with the IFC.

Matthew Gamser's professional background:Since 1987,Matthew Gamser has worked as a financial advisor. He has also worked as a research associate at the University of Sussex from 1978 to 1987 and as a research assistant at Harvard University from 1974 to 1978. He has also been a visiting professor at the University of California at Davis from 2005 to 2007 and the University of Adelaide from 2007 to 2009. While working as a financial advisor, Gamser note the issue of work readiness in the future professional generations and created the idea of a "work readiness charter" which he later donated to the University of Sussex. The charter values skills and abilities such as communication, problem solving, collaboration, responsibility, creativity and risk management.

Matthew Gamser has a background in finance from the University of Hong Kong. From 1991-2005, Matthew held various senior management positions at Development Alternatives, Inc., a private company founded by Matthew Gamser. There, he was the CEO, and led the company through Sweeps of numerous large business acquisitions and organic growth. In 2005, Matthew left Development Alternatives to take on the role of CEO at the IFC, in the Metro Area of Washington D.C. Matthew has held this position since April of 2012. Prior to this, he held the role of COO at IFC from February 2005-April 2012.
