San FranciscoCo-Founder & GM @ Strengo "A team of four UA students in the McGuire Entrepreneurship Program hopes to create a new healthy trend by developing and marketing an ancient Aztec seed [chia] containing high concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids. So far, the Strengo Group has succeeded by taking second-place honors in an entrepreneurship competition held last month in Boise, Idaho. While in the Gem State, the group competed against 14 other college teams to develop successful business plans in front of a panel of judges critiquing the feasibility of the projects. Strengo Group is helping to produce the salvia hispanica L, or chia seed, as part of a year-long class project with Ricardo Ayerza Jr. and Wayne Coates, who have been working on the project for more than 15 years at the UA. "We're working to create a demand for this product," said Matt Van Horn, general manager of Strengo Group. "There is a lot of validation for this seed on the market."http://www.wildcat.arizona.edu/article/2006/04/group_sprouts_fertile_business From 2005 to November 2006 (1 year) Co-Founder @ MacBand.com MacBand was a community for musicians to share their songs and loops created in GarageBand.Managed development and growth of MacBand.com from inception to acquisition by ClickHype, Inc.http://www.macnews.com/content/macbandcom-lets-garageband-users-share-musichttp://lifehacker.com/143991/macbandcom-garageband-samples From January 2004 to May 2005 (1 year 5 months)
