Education:Matt Hiefield has a B.S. from OSU in Educational Leadership. He has been a teacher since 1998. After teaching for 5 years in a district that included grades 5-8, Hiefield became a Digital Equity Champion in 2002 and 2003. He is also currently a Lead Teacher at ISTE and is a Teacher at Beaverton School District. In 2003-2004, he was also a teacher on the District Curriculum Development Team at Sunset High School. From 2003-2008, Hiefield was an International Baccalaureate Coordinator at Beaverton School District from May 2003 to June 2008.

Matt Hiefield's education began with formal education which included undergraduate studies in history and French at Whitman College from September 1983 to September 1987. After completing his undergraduate studies, Matt then went on to complete Masters of Arts degree in teaching and social studies teacher education at Lewis and Clark College from September 1990 to September 1991. While in Lewis and Clark College, Matt also completed additional coursework in his area of focus through addition to his degree, which included a successful completion of a 9-12 school teaching credential. Matt's professional experience began with a stint as a history teacher at Whitman College from September 1983 to September 1987. After teaching at Whitman College, Matt moved on to join the teaching staff at 9-12 school in Wenatchee, Washington from September 1990 to September 1991.

Matt Hiefield has more than 20 years of experience in the teaching and educational field. He began his career teaching at an elementary school in Beaverton, Oregon. He then went on to teach at Sunset High School in Beaverton, Oregon for four years. In 2001, he moved to Beaverton, Oregon and joined the teaching staff of the district’s school core curriculum developer, District Curriculum Developer. From 2001 to 2003, he also served as International Baccalaureate Coordinator for the Sunset High School School District.Since graduating from college in 2003, Matt Hiefield has worked as a teacher in the Beaverton School District. his most recent role was as a teacher and Digital Equity Advisor for the School District. He has also been involved in the development of the district’s school curriculum.Matt Hiefield is also a member of the International Baccalaureate Coordinating Committee for the Beaverton School District. He has been a member of the Committee since May 2003.
