Matt'sEarly Life:Matt was born in St. Petersburg, Florida in1983. He is the son of a steelworker and a housewife. Matt has two siblings, a brother and a sister. Growing up, Matt was always interested in music and wanted to be a professional musician. He was part of a choir when he was younger, but he didn't realize it until he saw his parents try to teach him how to play the violin in public. Matt started outside singing in the choir, then finally learned how to play the guitar. Matt then started playing in his school's orchestra and loved it. He eventually decided to switch to Music Business and attend Alcorn State University in neighboring Mississippi. Matt was a music major at Alcorn State University and loved music. He found out he wanted to be a music business major, so he switched to Entrepreneur. When he was in his senior year, he met some friends from college who were starting their own company. Matt and these friends formed a company together and started Handshaking.com in August 2010. Matt was the CEO at Handshaking.com from August 2010 to February 2012.Early experiences in the music industry:Matt had his first professional gig as a backup singer for a band called The Vamps in 2007. When he was 19 years old, Matt included himself on the mix tape that The Vamps made. After the mix tape came out, Matt was asked to be a backup vocalist on one of the most successful MTV shows of all time, Tiësto's never-ending battle against Lance Bass. Matt got to audition for the show and ended up Winning! Matt then subsequently became a regular member of the cast of the show and was responsible for the Vamps tour in 2009. He also appeared on American Idol in 2009. Matt then had his first start in the music industry as a music business executive when he became President of Holmes Real Estate Group from October 2011 to July 2014.Matt Makes A fuss:In October 2011, Matt met with a company by the name of Devium. Devium was a business startup that was about to launch a new website. At the time, the website was still in the early stages and there wasn't a lot of feedback. to make sure that their new website worked very well, Matt and his team spent days visiting customer sites and getting user feedback. The end result of their work was that the website was extremely successful and went on to become the best-selling property website on the web.When Matt first met with Devium, he was very impressed with their technology and the potential that their product had. After a year of working with them, Matt decided to move to the United States and lead the company there. When Matt moved to the United States, he found that the market for real estate was very different from what he was used to in Europe. He was immediately successful in growing the company and making it a top player in the industry. When Matt started the company, he had the goal of becoming the world's largest real estate company. He was able to achieve this goal and grew the company to over $1 billion in market capitalization
