In it’s fourth year of operation, Dunkin’ Brands had under new management a struggling company, with a major accomplishment being the husband-and-wife team of David and Edie Hoban who took over the company in 2008. David Hoban, who had been the Regional Vice President at Dunkin’ Brands in the South Central Region, had left the company in 2006 to take over as Regional Manager at Aarsand Management, a position which he’d held for two years. In his previous position, he had overseen Operations, Development, and Construction along with accountability for all aspects of the business in a collaborative way with the crossfunctional team and franchisees. Prior to taking on the role of Operations Manager at Dunkin’ Brands, he had been a Director of Operations at Dunkin’ Brands in South Central Region from April 2006 to April 2008, a position which he had held for two years. He also held a position as an Operations Manager with Dunkin’ Brands in Baltimore, Maryland from April 2008 to August 2012, a position which he had held for four years.This individual has a lot of experience in working with franchisees and overseeing operations, which is evident in the position they were given at Dunkin’ Brands. Additionally, they had a successful track record in developing and implementing a strategic plan that had lead to increased franchisee sales, operational performance and profitability. This plan was able to result in doubling sales and increasing profitability, which was notable given the fact that Dunkin’ Brands was under new management at the time.In terms of their work experience, David and Edie Hoban are no strangers to the region they currently live in. They had worked in Greater Philadelphia for five years, prior to moving to the area that they currently live in. They had been with Dunkin’ Brands for four years, prior to their current role. They are also natives of the Philadelphia area, which is evident in their previous roles and experience.

Mathias Piercy has a B.A. in Mathematics from Millersville University of Pennsylvania in 1995. He then enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he completed his graduate studies in 2002 with a M.A. in Mathematical Sciences. From 2002-2005, he was a research associate at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. From 2005-2008, he was an assistant professor at the University of California, Davis. In 2008, he was appointed an associate professor at the University of California, Berkeley. Currently, he is an associate professor at the University of California, Davis. Piercy's research focuses on the study of mathematical models and their validity in the real world.
