💼 Past Experience

Mat Rashidi's work experiences include developing and hiking new formulas for Cosmetic GroupUSA's Hair Color products, working closely with Marketing to develop strong claims backed by scientific substantiation and consumer studies, and acquiring skills in fluorine analysis, XPS, FT-IR, Mass Spectrometer, LEED and sputtering. In addition, he was teaching assistant at University of Illinois at Chicago's Department of Chemistry and has also maintained a Laboratory for Inorganic Chemistry.

Mat Rashidi has a B.S. degree in chemistries from the University of Michigan, where he also earned his M.S. in chemical engineering. He began his professional career as a research scientist at JOSEPH H. LOWENSTEIN & SON’S INC., where he was responsible for developing innovative formulations for permanent, demi-permanent and semi-permanent hair color products in the form of cream, foam, liquid and powder. He has since been promoted to lead research at Cosmetic Group USA, where he is responsible for the development of new formulas, reverse engineering standard formulas, improving existing formulas for compliance, and exploring and pursuing innovative technology to integrate into new products.Mat Rashidi is also a managing research scientist at Cosmetic Group USA, where he oversees 26 scientists, chemists and Technicians, developing and shaping a culture of innovation, maximizing the application of cutting edge research and development insights, collaborating with our Supply Chain and R&D leaders to identify, size and prioritize technology opportunities to support their areas of responsibility, measuring monthly operating performances against approved goals and objectives, providing technical knowledge to reduce product failures, improve costs and assures quality. In addition, he is also responsible for the development of the company’s innovation program, the fostering of scale, and the providing scientific and technical leadership in critical disciplines such as process development, R&D strategy, execution and regulatory approach.
