Marwan Fawaz studied engineering at California State University, Long Beach from 1982-1987. Following his graduation, he worked as a engineer for a telecommunications company. However, he decided to change his career in 2009 and moved to Damascus, Syria to work as an engineer for a state-owned oil company.
