Martin was born in the town of Gorleston in Yorkshire, England in 1963. He attended the University of Leeds where he studied cinema, television and film production. Martin then worked in London, England as a scriptwriter and producer for several years. After this, he moved to South East Asia for eight years as a marketing consultant and environmental lobbyist with several businesses. He then moved to China in 1996 and started his own business, Martin Charter Consultancy, which provides environmental consulting and marketing services to businesses and organizations.Martin has been involved in many different environmental projects and has developed severalcripts to help businesses and organizations find sustainable solutions to their environmental challenges. He has also written two books on this topic, "Scenario Planning for the Environment" and "Greenmarketing: Strategies for Shopping that Sustain the Planet". Martin has also provided consulting services toGovernmental Affairs and Environmental Regulation Agencies worldwide.Martin Charter Frsa has won several prestigious accolades, including being named one of the UK's Top 10 Associates for Sustainable business in 2002 and 2003, and being named a Fellow of the RSA in 1988. He has also been awarded the prestigious Prixive award from the French Société Générale for his work in Sustainable Business. Martin has also been awarded the Order of the British Empire by the Queen in 2003.
