Also troubleshooting servers, switches and connectivity issues. Swapping out faulty server components (disks, ram, fans etc), performing a system rescue and applying configuration before running isok, a remote test facility to test server status over AIM communicator. Clients included BT & HSBC From August 2010 to November 2010 (4 months) DV Cleared Fibre/Copper Installation and Test Engineer @ Contracted to install structured cabling system at one of the most secure/sensitive sites worldwide. Cat6 STP with a fibre backbone solution installed for VOIP. Liaised with the main contractor to advise on cable routes and required materials. Installed all containment, basket, tray, galvanized trunking and PVC trunking. Installed several thousand horizontal cables and tested using Fluke DTX. Installed single and multimode fibres and spliced into enclosures using Fujikura 50S. Surveyed all work areas to enable programming and allocation of new numbers on switches/routers. Installed VOIP switches into equipment racks and then performed all patching to a schedule. Installed VOIP on to user desktops and performed migration from legacy system.

Installed control cables for Principle Supply Point monitoring system on Network Rail Infrastructure. Scope of works included installation of all control cables from the remote monitoring unit to the signal panels, UPS bypass and rectifier units. Terminations were crimped onto bootlace ferrules and hard wired or made onto mondraggon terminals. All wiring was performed to strict guidelines as the system is critical for maintaining signaling supplies and the location and isolation of faults.

Included Stripping, cleaning, heat shrinking, riveting of the moisture barrier and terminating 50 pair copper cable into trackside stump boxes. 20, 10 and 2 pair cable also prepared and terminated from stump box to PSP / FSP and SPT. 50 pair also jointed and sealed using Raychem joint.
