💼 Past Experience

I have worked with multiple companies, both during my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I have been in a lot of startups and I’ve been responsible for a lot of strategy consulting, product development, and financial consulting. I think my most proud accomplishment is that I was part of the team that created and launched the product that I am currently working on.

🎓 Education

Mark Suster had a B.A from UC San Diego in 1986. From there, he attended the University of Chicago where he earned an MBA in 1997. Over the years, he has worked in a number of different capacities in both private and public companies. In particular, he has worked as a strategic consultant and director of business development for a number of companies. The last six years, he has served as the President and CTO of the startup accelerator,In-Q-Tel. In his work readiness role, he is working on various projects with startups in various stages of development. His projects focus on working with startups to identify and mitigate risk, as well as helping them to grow. All of these projects are part of his current role at In-Q-Tel.Since his arrival at In-Q-Tel, Mark has seen a significant change in the startup accelerator. In comparison to the past, In-Q-Tel is now a much more supportive and welcoming environment for startups. startups are free to come, offer their products and services, and share their analysis and insights with the other members of the accelerator. This atmosphere has led to a significant increase in the number of startups that have applied to, and been accepted into, In-Q-Tel over the past year. Additionally, In-Q-Tel has also seen an increase in the number of deals that it has made. In the past, In-Q-Tel had a relatively low number of deals because it wasn't open to any firms who weren't already a part of the fold at the company. However, sinceMark has been at In-Q-Tel, the company has seen a clear growth in its investor base. This has lead to a more diverse set of partners and investors, which has helped In-Q-Tel set up a wider range of deals.mark Suster:Mark Suster is a top-notch executive who has worked extensively in both the private and public industries. Born in Minnesota in the early seventies, Mark Suster moved to California in the early nineties and quickly became interested in the entrepreneurial scene. After a few years of working in some very differentTech :( departments at two large customerlight/ software companies), Suster decided to go it alone and formed his first company, Koral, in April 2006. As founder and CEO, he led Koral, a new product launch that's now the industry darling of salesforce.com, through a successful 2-year period and until March 2007, when he was acquired by the company.With a wealth of experience in both corporate finance and product launch, Suster brings significant strengths to the tiny company he founded—including five years of experience as a General Partner at Upfront Ventures, 8 years of experience as a Manager of Innovation at Accenture, and 2 years at First Interstate Bank.
