Assisted AWG staff on how to best utilize the Army Knowledge On-Line (AKO) application. Assisted AWG staff on incorporating business process automation. From March 2005 to March 2008 (3 years 1 month) Winchester, VAEDD Analyst @ Merrill Corporation • Consulted Merrill clients such as Sidley & Austin and Brown & Wood on Concordance database configurations and vendor relations. Since reconfiguring Sidley & Austin concordance databases, they now perform searches in half the time.• Assisted Merrill on future services for their Cleveland, Ohio data center. From June 2004 to September 2004 (4 months) Senior Application Developer @ Lasership • Designed, developed and implemented a total solution to handle all aspects of LaserShip’s sister company, LEX Documents, business. LEX Documents does litigation support for fortune 500 law firms in 12 markets along the East coast and Midwest. The intranet based application covered firm, sales, production, forecasting, employee and office management as well as invoicing and reporting. This system was built with an ASP, VBScript, Java Script and HTML, hosted on an IIS server. The backend MS SQL 2000 database consisted of approximately 40 tables, 25 views and over 100 stored procedures and was replicated to all divisional servers.• Started the redevelopment of the above NOVO application as an ASP.Net solution.• Designed, developed and implemented a software package to handle LaserShip’s sister companies blowback work (the automated printing of files on a CD for litigation). The software is now in use in 75% of the company’s locations along the East coast and Midwest generating an additional $24,000 - $325,000 an office per month. Utilization of this software has also assisted the company in reducing their labor cost by 60% thus increasing their profit margin for blowback work. The software converts data to PostScript, TIF and PDF formatted images, supports full text extraction and META DATA and SMART TAG retrieval.• The latest Electronic Data Discovery system I solely build for LasersShip’s sister company was capable of Full text searching using MS SQL 2000 Servers full text search engine. The system also handled all Microsoft application as well as Lotus Notes NSF support. The system would process all documents, extracting each documents full text, Metadata and smart tags. The system would also provide a MD5 Hash code for each document allowing the users to De-Dup either at the custodian or project levels. After a data set was created, a user could then export the data set including Tiff images, load files and databases. From July 2000 to May 2004 (3 years 11 months) Application Developer @ American Background • By developing and new FTP application using Visual Basic and MS-SQL I was able to automate the companies EDI systems, eliminated the need to manually transferring files, the faxing of search requests to or from vendors.• Redesigned the companies ASP Internet application to interface with new data structures as while maintaining compatibility with the existing solution.• Reengineered the security of their core production software and Intranet/extranet application. I did this by using T-SQL to dynamically create users and groups both at the server and database security levels. From November 2000 to April 2001 (6 months) Winchester, VAApplication Developer @ Perry Judd's • Developed a new Time and Attendance system that collects data for over 1,000 employees. The system processes the employee’s transactions and then loads them into our payroll system as well as our cost system. Both the time clock and the manager software were developed as N-Tier applications. The front ends were developed with Visual Basic 6, the middle tier is made of ActiveX DLL’s, utilizing COM+, that are controlled within MTS (Microsoft Transaction Server) and the backend is MSSQL 7.0 and the DB2 on the AS/400. The backend database consisted of about 35 tables, 10 views and 25 stored Procedures.• Divisional Database Administrator for five MSSQL 7.0 servers and one MSSQL 6.5 server.• Developed a new logistics system, which consolidates and tracks all of our shipments. Technologies included, MS SQL 7, VB 6, IIS, MTS and Com+.• Project leader for the development of the company’s business objects. Everything from a building door to a cost center. All of the business objects where developed using Visual Basic 6 as DLLs tied into MTS using COM+.• Wrote an API that tied the Time2000 system (Time and Attendance) into our door security system. This has eliminated the Human Resources department from doing dual entry as well as dual maintenance.• Project leader for our payroll conversion from Lawson payroll on the AS/400 to a Ceridian product. This included exporting all of the companies payroll data for the last 30 years, reformatting it do the new specs and then importing it into its new database.• Key member of the Y2K migration team, which was completed in less than four months as well as migration from a CISC to RISC conversion.• Developed an application on their Intranet that tracks development projects. This system allows the IS department as well as company managers to track and understand the project tasks and objectives.• Integrated our MSSQL 7.0 servers and AS/400 to allow provide inline data access.
