A few years ago, I left the context of a company in which I held three spots, where I am senior vice president, on the board and where I was CEO and responsible for day-to-day operations. I had a fairly short stint as CTO in a startup, but I can tell you that there’s no comparison to what you have to go through in order to lead and succeed in a senior executive title.In fact, it’s something that I’ve learned during my career. I’ve done it before, and it was a very important part of my fit at my previous company, where I started out as a technology manager, and then became CTO. The thing is, when you’re in those very senior positions, you have to know how to makeicolor—and that takes a lot of hard work, experience, and dedication.It sounds a bit farfetched, but it’s really hard work. You build a really good team, and you have to stay focused on the business when things are going crazy. That’s what I did at Global Funding, and I think that’s what I can bring tovolcano. There’s a lot that I can offer to the company, and I think that I’d be a great next leader.There are a lot ofrastrations when it comes to leadership, unfortunately. Too often we think that we know what the right thing to do is, and that’s not always the case. Sometimes, it’s hard to realize that something different is possible because you feel that your ideas are the only ones that are working.There’s a lot of value in being different, and that’s what I pride myself on. To have the guts to do something different, and to have the conviction to stick around when the going gets tough, that’s really what it takes.
