I love to code. I am a gregarious, versatile, full stack software engineer with a passion for innovation, world-class industry experience with leading enterprise level solutions and a propensity for learning. From my beginning at University of Arizona to the creation of my small startup, it has been a journey filled with passion, learning and personal development. It led me to design mobile applications as well as working with industry leaders like IBM. With a wide array of knowledge from designing test infrastructures for large-scale system plexes to designing programmatic media buying systems -- I love to innovate. My passion for innovation also led me to obtain patents and publishes within the technology space. Not only does my drive help me gain a deeper understanding of computer science topics it alsoleads to the inception of others.

Full Stack Software Engineer @ https://unroll.me/team/marc
IMAP client development: I maintain and continuously improve the backend of Unroll.me — which spans across Gmail, Outlook, AOL, Yahoo and iCloud. Our platform sustains millions of active users per day and processes over a billion emails.
Real-Time Data Streaming: Developed real-time processing for our application stack using Apache Kafka for advanced analytics. I maintain a multi-broker cluster (Zookeeper ensemble backed) stream that provides a plethora of information on-demand which helps identify problem areas, points of interests and how we could enhance our product.
Restful Web Services: Maintain Dropwizard deployments which provide RESTFul services for our analytics data layer which spans across the technology stack.
Front End: Developed a fully responsive web application that’s built on top of our Jetty Servers which provides a quick way to look at aggregated metrics, statistics and system health.
Database Operations : Set up a highly available NoSQL (MongoDB) architecture that runs on RAID 10 which provides backing for our analytics engine which runs various MapReduce jobs throughout the day aggregating real-time log metrics across millions of users.
A programmatic media buying system that makes real-time purchases of ad space. The system tracks client strategies for media buying and negotiates proper communication with integrated ad exchanges, making purchases of ad space relevant to our clients' specifications. The system also uses a feedback system with proprietary tracking technologies to provide relevant feedback data to a performance-based machine learning process.
Contributions in design and implementation:
-Concurrent Ad-Exchange facing custom HTTP server. This server was built from scratch to handle specific web traffic from ad-exchanges using persistent connections.
-Bidding logic and concurrent bidding system.
-Feedback server. This server was built to specifically handle and track ad impressions, clicks, and conversions for a given cookie.
-NoSQL database architect
-Performance-based machine learning design.
-Aggregation and Attribution engine design From July 2013 to February 2015 (1 year 8 months) Chatham, NJSoftware Engineer - System Verification Tester, Systems Programmer @ I worked within the z/OS mainframe working programs dealing with critical customer data. I worked within 'Dataset Services’, which has an emphasis on redundancy and data integrity. I garnered a lot of knowledge with developing enterprise-level test infrastructures as well as focusing on customer deliverables. From there I worked on 'System Data Mover’, which is the safeguard for customers focused on system disaster recovery. From this position I had to coordinate use-cases for sophisticated system infrastructures and dealt with client facing software. I also created and lead the effort for enhancing productivity by creating internal software by way of programmatic APIs to coordinate customer communication with internal employees.
Systems programmer responsibilities spanned across maintaining a variety of mission critcial z/OS systems. These systems were used for internal function, software configuration and software integrity.. International communication was a priority in fulfilling the customers’ needs. From January 2008 to April 2013 (5 years 4 months) Tucson, Arizona AreaSection Leader - Undergraduate Teacher Assistant @ - Assisted computer science professors by coordinating and leading java-based discussions with students.
- Helped to reinforce the class content and material as well as grading exams.
- Lead weekly teaching of computer science topics to the class of students. From August 2007 to December 2007 (5 months) Tucson, Arizona Area
