💼 Past Experience

Started his career as a Bank Controller, Banking at Malaysian Commercial Bank (MDB) from 1990 to 1992. Then he joined Bank Islam (BI) as Manager, Banking and Controller from 1992 to 1995. After a five year stint with Bank Islam, he moved to Bank Perak (BPN) from 1995 to 1998. There he was Manager, Corporate Banking and later Manager, Business Development before joining Bank Negara in 1998.From 1999 to 2002, he was Deputy Manager (Development) at Bank Negara Malaysia before becoming the manager ( senior Recruiter) of Human Capital Department in 2003. Mahathir Mehat has a B.Sc. in Pure Science and Technology from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UPM), with distinction in both Science and Technology wise and also in economic development aspect. After completing his education, he worked as an Analysts at a major bank as well as several developmental banks. Additionally, he has worked in merchandising and marketing capacity at several high-tech companies before coming to Bank Negara. In March 2007, he was appointed as a Senior Recruiter at Bank Negara Malaysia. From January 2007 to March 2007, he was appointed as an Analyst (Senior Recruiter).
