Software Engineering Intern @ Interning on the Trust and Safety team. From June 2015 to Present (5 months) San FranciscoSoftware Engineering Intern @ Interning on the Risk Systems team.
I work on improving machine learning systems used to detect fraudulent payments and merchants. From January 2015 to May 2015 (5 months) San Francisco Bay AreaResearch Assistant @ I am working on a team that uses both unsupervised and semi-supervised machine learning techniques to achieve aorta segmentation in CT scans. The ultimate goal of the project is reducing the amount of time medical professionals must spend manually completing this task. From September 2014 to December 2014 (4 months) Ann Arbor, MichiganEngineering Practicum Intern @ Interned on the Chrome Networking team.
My project focused on SSL optimization.I designed a new, more efficient method for Chrome's handling of multiple, simultaneous connections to the same server. The project converted a significant percentage of SSL handshakes from full handshakes to faster and less expensive resumption handshakes. As a result, it has the potential to improve Chrome network performance on all platforms -- though it will impact mobile most significantly. From May 2014 to August 2014 (4 months) Mountain View, CAResearch Assistant @ The Haptix Lab does research in the area of human/machine interfaces. The project that I worked on focused on improving force feedback in prosthetic devices. I ran human subject tests in the lab, which included collecting and analyzing data, and using Matlab and SolidWorks to upkeep necessary software and equipment.
I am listed as an author on a paper, which has been submitted to the IEEE Transactions on Haptics for review. From January 2013 to April 2014 (1 year 4 months) Ann Arbor, MichiganFreshman Engineering Practicum Intern @ Interned on the AdExchange Engineering Productivity team.
Another intern and I designed and implemented a customizable diffing library for XML and JSON strings contained within protocol buffers. This library was used by an existing protocol buffer diffing library to perform diffs on any XML or JSON fields. In addition, we implemented an interactive UI to better display the output of an existing protocol buffer diffing library.
The project ultimately created stronger validations for an integration testing framework used by the entire AdExchange product team.
This li From May 2013 to August 2013 (4 months) New York, New YorkResearch Intern @ Assisted in the development of waveguide sensors to detect bearing defects in jet engines. My responsibilities include designing and executing experiments to better understand the properties of various materials used in the sensors, and to determine the effectiveness of piezo-electric materials at detecting vibrations. I also used MATLAB to write signal processing tools that were regularly used by myself and other researchers.
I am designated as an inventor on a pending patent for this technology. From June 2012 to August 2012 (3 months) Cincinnati AreaSwim Instructor, Lifeguard @ Was responsible for teaching swim lessons to groups of ~15 five to twelve year olds. I was required to design and execute these lessons by myself. From June 2010 to August 2011 (1 year 3 months) Mariemont, Ohio
Bachelor of Science (BS), Computer Science @ University of Michigan From 2012 to 2016 Mariemont High School From 2008 to 2012 Mackenzie Shelley is skilled in: Matlab, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Python, Research, Engineering, C++, Java, CAD, Solidworks, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Data Analysis, Programming, Leadership, HTML, JavaScript
