💼 Past Experience

My work experience with Johnson and Johnson was as Vice President, Media & Omni-Channel Planning at Walgreens in Chicago. My responsibilities included media planning and investment across all channels, inclusive of operations, processes & standards, agency and partnership management, as well as omni-channel strategies across brand and performance marketing. In my previous role at MediaCom from June 1999 to July 2006, I was responsible for all aspects of media planning and buying, as well as global leadership of data-driven marketing & programmatic capability and strategic approach. I also held the role of Assistant Media Planner at MediaCom from early 2005 until my elevation to VP, Associate Media Director in early 2005. Additionally, I was responsible for managing crossfunctional/cross discipline teams and senior client relationships at MediaCom. At Johnson & Johnson, I was responsible for digital innovation & social media at the Johnson & Johnson Consumer Digital Center of Excellence, where I managed all aspects of communications strategy, traditional and digital, for the iconic Johnson's Baby franchise as well as the Clean & Clear business, brought from OMD. I also had oversight of digital strategy, plan development, execution/optimization, and reporting, across the Skincare portfolio of brands within Johnson & Johnson (Beauty and Baby; key brands included: Neutrogena, Aveeno, Clean & Clear, RoC, Johnson's Baby, and Desitin). Finally, at Universal McCann, I was responsible for traditional and digital media planning across skincare and personal care brands within the Johnson & Johnson portfolio. In my previous role at OMD, I was responsible for strategy and negotiations for all three business sectors: Consumer, Pharmaceutical, and Medical Device. I also created a hybrid role bridging OMD Strategy and OMD Digital to ensure holistic planning approach and strategy across multiple brands.One of the primary accomplishments of my time at Johnson & Johnson was the development of digital video planning/buy strategy. I was responsible for developing a strategy for all of Johnson & Johnson's skincare and personal care brands, as well as for ensuring that all of their products were offered in a digital and traditional format. This included eCommerce integration, data management/programmatic buying strategy, and measurement/optimization.Another primary accomplishment of my time at Johnson & Johnson was the development of digital video planning. I developed a strategy for all of Johnson & Johnson's skincare and personal care brands, as well as for ensuring that all of their products were offered in a digital and traditional format. Overall, Luke Kigel has a long and rich history of professional and technical achievement. He was born in New Zealand and educated at the University of Auckland where he gained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After leaving university, Kigel worked for two years as a marketing director for a large New Zealand supermarket before moving to the United States in 1999. Here, he worked as a assistant media planning and assistant media manager at MediaCom, before becoming a VP, Associate Media Director at MediaCom in early 2005. In February 2010, Kigel was appointed leader of digital innovation and social media at OMD. Under Kigel’s leadership, OMD developed a digital strategy that encompasses both traditional and digital media planning across skincare and personal care brands. In August 2007, Kigel transferred from OMD to UM, becoming the then-new head of digital innovation and social media within the UM Division. This move allowed Kigel to take on both a strategy and strategy+digital merger role, overseeing all aspects of communications strategy, digital planning, execution, and optimization across the skincare and personal care brands within the Johnson & Johnson portfolio. Kigel left UM in November 2009, to take up a position asVP, Digital Group Director at Universal McCann. At Universal McCann, Kigel was responsible for all aspects of communications strategy, including traditional and digital, for the iconic Johnson’s Baby franchise and the Clean & Clear business, brought from OMD. Kigel is currently a supervisor at the Johnson & Johnson Consumer Digital Center of Excellence.
