📖 Summary

Luke is a pleasant, responsible and open-minded leader. His 2:1 Degree in Mathematics from the University of Leeds coupled with his outstanding academic record has moulded him into a creative, logical thinker with the ability to problem solve swiftly. He is extremely motivated, enthusiastic, articulate and able to manage time efficiently. Luke’s colleagues at the Foundry inspired him to pursue a career in Software Development. At his own leisure, he undertook online courses in C# whilst balancing his job in Finance. The thrill of employing the unique combination of creativity and logic to build a tangible piece of software delighted him. From April 2013 to April 2014 (1 year 1 month) Accounts Assistant & Talent Executive @ Benchmark Sport International is the holding company for a global network of brands and business that specialises in the development of sport-related networks in the business and social sector. The companies include Benchmark Talent, Sport Industry Group, Beyond Sport and the Square Mile. Working in a team of two as an Accounts Assistant for Benchmark Holding, I used Sage 5.0 and MS Excel to undertake tasks such as multi-currency bank reconciliations, monthly inter-company reconciliations, nominal ledger reconciliations, credit card reconciliations and petty cash reconciliations. I generated aged debtors, aged creditor and nominal ledger reports. Other duties included credit control, creating monthly talent statements, registering sales and purchase invoices and general maintenance of the sales and purchase ledger. As a Talent Executive for Benchmark Talent, I looked after sports personalities including Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson, Will Greenwood, Richard Hill and John Amaechi. The role entailed ensuring the talent and the client knew the agenda and logistics of upcoming events such as keynote speeches, sponsorship endorsements and public appearances. From March 2012 to April 2013 (1 year 2 months) Engineering Services Engineer @ Redwood Technologies is an IT hardware and software development company. I was employed by Content Guru at the Redwood Technologies headquarters in Bracknell. One of the many tasks I undertook as an Engineering Services Engineer was to provision new numbers, meaning giving a client telephone numbers which were owned by Content Guru, so they could use them for their company. They would request a block of numbers by email or phone, ranging from 20 to 500 new DDIs to provision on the blue or green network. I had to use Redwood’s exclusive software, including RTESOps, RTIB and STORM. I created queries to update every single DDI on Microsoft SQL and did copious amounts of work on Microsoft Excel. This task enhanced my IT skills greatly and taught me how to deal with important clients from first class companies. It developed organisation skills, as I had to prioritise many different tasks, deciding which would take the longest and keeping to deadlines to satisfy the client. I also gave solutions to clients on software problems. This enhanced my analytical skills, as I had to find the root of the problem and come up with a quick solution whilst on the phone. From August 2011 to September 2011 (2 months) Retail Specialist @ I worked in Harrods, Krispy Kreme over the summer of 2010 to keep my brain active whilst on holiday from University of Leeds. I believe that it is important to learn from every experience regardless of the job title, as this makes you a better, well-rounded person. Harrods’ responsibilities included customer service, cash handling (tills) and general cleaning. I learnt many skills in this job, the most important being face-to-face interaction with customers. I was put in the position of dealing with angry customers and coped with them in a polite and nonchalant manner. My manager gave all employees the task of selling tins, which enhanced my selling skills greatly. Once I sold 13 tins, which my manager was particularly impressed by. I learnt the importance of team work, as everyone had a rota of tasks, one person serving the customer, one employee on the till and one making the beverages. When this system was not conducted, it resulted in more stress and a slower service. From July 2010 to September 2010 (3 months) Data Executive @ The MediaTel Group is the largest single source of media intelligence in the UK. It is a system used by advertising agencies, where clients subscribe so they can have access to a listing of all consumer business magazines. The role of a data executive included adding and updating press titles, researching publisher’s information and chasing the publisher’s via phone and email. This was my first job in an office and my boss complemented me on how articulate I was over the phone. I also learnt how to structure emails in a professional manner. I observed the basic structure of how a publishing company operates and how magazines accumulate their funds. The most interesting being that adverts generate higher income than cover prices, and how the magazine makes use of this. From July 2009 to September 2009 (3 months) Waitor @ Customer Service, waiting on tables and general cleaning From April 2006 to April 2006 (1 month) BSc 2:1, Mathematics @ University of Leeds From 2008 to 2011 A-Levels, Mathematics, Geography, Psychology @ Chiswick Community College From 2006 to 2008 Luke Belfield is skilled in: Teamwork, Microsoft Excel, Data Analysis, Time Management, Public Relations, Customer Service, Access, Budgets, Microsoft Office, Accounting, Event Management, Social Media, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Research
