Union Fenosa is a multinational company based in Madrid, focused in the production and distribution of electric power in Spain and several Latin American countries. It also has a lot of subsidiaries specialized in IT services, Gas, Engineering, Treasury and Financial Services, etc
In my 15 years working for Union Fenosa, I have held various positions, most of them related to IT.
I started programming in Common Lips two expert systems designed together with Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh (USA) for treasury optimization.
I learned a lot of functional programming skills, design patterns, OO ways to architecture and organize applications as well as gained team-work abilities that lead me to later positions as team leader, IT Expert and Consultant in Soluziona (Union Fenosa’s subsidiary in IT services), project manager of several internal projects for the whole business group, etc.
In the last years I worked as middleman between IT - Treasury departments, reengineering processes in the last one, gathering functional requirements and transforming them into specifications for the new systems to be developed by the IT teams, being at the same time the projects owner and technical advisor. From October 1993 to January 2009 (15 years 4 months) IT Expert and Technical Coordinator @ Consultant and technical man representing UF to collaborate with Wisdom Tech personnel to adapt Union Fenosa's expert systems to the US market. From February 1999 to May 1999 (4 months) IT Technical Intern at the company @ Just after graduating in Computer Science at the University of Granada I started this internship in Puleva.
As member of the IT Department, I was admin of a local area network, programmer of some UNIX scripts, company own software and new hardware installer... From September 1992 to December 1992 (4 months) Teacher @ I gave some Office - DbaseIII - DOS courses to the personnel at the National Geografical Institute of Granada.
