When I was 17 I was part of the National Youth Leadership Forum for Law and CSI in Washington, DC. I can distinctly remember at the end of the program there was a farewell cruise, and on our return from that cruise I was asked to write and present a speech the next morning to my fellow 300 peers that were also enrolled in the program.
I was terrified at the Idea of going up in front of so many people with a speech that I only had a few hours to prepare, and at 17 I didn't have any public speaking experience. I was nervous to say the least.
I went in front of the crowd, clutching my speech; but once I started talking I was automatically at ease. The more I talked, the more confident I became. When my speech was over the auditorium erupted with applause, and It was at that moment I discovered a new talent.
I have used that experience to push myself into a more well rounded student, employee and person. That experience has taught me how to greet new challenges with enthusiasm.
That same enthusiasm can be seen in my work ethic. I have consistently worked two or three jobs while being a full time student, who is completing final coursework in Communications.
I am eager to apply my excellent writing and communication skills outside of the classroom. I want to prove that I am an extremely motivated and versatile worker and I want to use my time management, communication, and social media skills to help reach new clients in innovative ways.
