From April 2015 to October 2015 (7 months) Greater Seattle AreaCPO/CTO & Co-Founder @ Farmstr was a collaborative marketplace where consumers could buy clean food directly from local small sustainable farmers, fishers and ranchers. We procured seed financing from some of Seattle’s top VCs and Angels in late May 2014. The company closed in February 2015. Refined product vision and strategy. Developed proto-personas and defined/prioritized product requirements based on analysis of market, competitor, and customer research. Defined and communicated our product roadmap. Facilitated team meetings for product planning/execution. Identified and tracked KPIs. Assisted with marketing strategies and efforts. Maintained original prototype (including server/database administration, minor coding efforts, and regular metrics reporting). Established our enterprise, solution, and information architectures. From March 2014 to January 2015 (11 months) Mobile Engineering Manager @ Led the cross-functional team responsible for creating and supporting Starbucks’ core US, Canada, and UK mobile apps on iOS (15 releases, v2.2-3.0) and Android (15 releases, v2.0-2.4.2). Oversaw nearly two dozen releases of international joint-venture apps on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. Championed and helped secure executive support and funding for the v3.0 mobile apps and services rearchitecture/redesign. Influenced global mobile strategy/roadmap and product user experience. Evangelized mobile innovation within the company. Managed strategic mobile relationships with companies like Apple and Google, as well as selection processes and partnerships with other mobile-related vendors. By March 2014, our mobile apps had over: 10MM active customers; 5MM weekly transactions; and 14% of all US tender. In FY13: we grew our mobile transactions by 120% YOY to an average of over 4MM per week; grew our mobile revenue by 153% YOY; and supported over 8MM active customers. 11% of in-store purchases were made through the mobile apps by the end of FY13, nearly double that of the previous year. Clients included BlueAvocado, Headlight, My Entrepreneurial Journey, and Vennland. Led the design effort to improve the usability and user experience of an existing web application. Improvements were based on business goals as well as the results of a heuristic evaluation, user research, rapid prototyping, and previously gathered customer feedback.
