Since she’s been alive, Lisa Uthgenannt has always been an inquirer. Her surroundings and people had a definite effect on her thinking and feeling, and the uncertainty of her future led her to ask herself a great many questions. Uthgenannt knew she wanted to study psychology, though she never knew what it would bring her. She was particularly interested in the field of interpersonal relationships and prejudice, two subjects close to her heart. After a few online searches and some digging through her old boxes of school supplies, she finally found a program that would allow her to study industrial organizational psychology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, something she had always wanted to do.Industrial organizational psychology is a field of psychology that focuses on the analysis of organizations. It does this by studying the relationships between employees and their employers, as well as the dynamics of workplace conflict and cooperation. This field is important because it unlocks insights into how to design and manage better organizations.Lisa Uthgenannt did a great job in her industrial organizational psychology course, studying and learning in anavidous and challenging circumstances. She found that she was able to understand complex concepts and apply them in practical ways. In the course, she teamed up with other students andWorked together to study case studies and complete tasks. She also had the opportunity to attend symposiums and conferences in order to gain external exposure to this extremely important field.Overall, Lisa has learned a lot about herself and her capabilities. She is now able to think more critically and carefully about potential career options. She is also more prepared to faceaciously problem solve in the workplace.
