In her previous positions, Lisa M Coleman has a deep understanding of the field of institutional and individual diversity. Her experience in public speaking and community outreach allows her to share her insights on how to increase the diversity of higher education groups. In her work at New York University, Lisa M Coleman has championed institutional and individual diversity, working to increase the217 Diverse Initiatives at NYU In the aftermath of the New York City attack on September 11th, 2001, Lisa M Coleman created a plan to increase New York University’s institutional and individual diversity. This plan focused on expanding the number of women and ethnic minorities in senior management, expanding diversity programming at the university, and creating a better environment for minority students.In the spring of 2000, Ms. Coleman took on a new role as the Chief Diversity Officer at Harvard University. In this new position, she spearheaded the effort to increase the diversity of the institution. As part of her agenda, Ms. Coleman worked to increase the number of minorities in the institution’s student body, create a more diverse environment on campus, and host a number of diversity events. In exchange, she received praise from many quarters, including Harvard President Lawrence Summers. Lisa M Coleman has also worked in a number of other sectors. She worked as a consultant for Independent Technology/ Computer Consultants from 1992-2001. During her time with the company, she was able to utilize her skills in diversity programming and public speaking to help various companies achieve their goals of diversity.Though her experience with independent technology may not have stretch as far as institutional or individual diversity, Lisa M Coleman has a diverse professional history that offers her plenty of insight into the field of diversity.
