Lisa Dougherty started her professional career as a psychology doctoral candidate at Western Michigan University in 1992. In 2001, she was offered the Attorney General's post in Michigan and has been performing her duties to this day. Dougherty's education and work experience have prepared her to offer her public service and lead the state of Michigan.Dougherty has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Western Michigan University, which she spent four years completing. The degree helped her develop critical thinking and problem solving skills, which she has used to her advantage in her career. Additionally, Dougherty has spent time practicing law and working as a trial attorney in the prosecutor's office in Detroit.Dougherty is most interested in the public service aspect of her career, and has made efforts to learn as much as she can about the various fields in which she could serve the public.
