About Li Yao

I majored in statistical data analysis. I tackle the most challenging problems in creating artificial intelligence. I specialize in deep learning -- modelling perceptual data with highly nonlinear functions. I'm honored to work with many talented people in deep learning, especially my supervisor Prof. Yoshua Bengio. In the past, I've worked on AI in games, deep learning in medical domain, probabilistic generative models on images and texts. My current interests are automatic video description generation and question answering. I live in Montreal, one of the most vibrant cities in Canada. I have a dream to build a start-up that uses AI to make better life of people.
