🎓 Education

Since childhood, Laura has always loved helping others. She started her own small business as a general contractor in her free time, and soon realized that she had a great deal to offer others. In the fall of 1997, Laura decided to walk the recently completed ten mile graduated walk from The Evergreen State College to Westchester County to raise money for their local school fund. She finished the walk and raised over $12,000 for the school fund. Laura's experience on that walk inspired her to continue to work in the business world, and she decided to turn that walk into a successful project.In the fall of 1998, Laura returned to Green River Community College to earn her AA degree in Chemistry. She had enjoyed her time at The Evergreen State College so much that she decided to stay there and complete her degree. This time, she knew she wanted to work in the chemical industry. After earning her AA degree, Laura moved to Michigan and started her own company. She quickly realized that she was well-prepared to succeed in this industry. She quickly became a leader in her company and was known for her hard work and driven nature.In the spring of 2001, Laura decided to move back to Oregon to take a new opportunity as an instructor in a chemistry class at PTCS in Beaversville. She was excited to be able to share her love of science with other students and help them develop knowledge in this important subject. After her first class, she quickly realized that she had a lot to learn and grow in this new role. She hit a lot of stride after her first year as an instructor and helped PTCS to achieve high recognition and success.In the summer of 2002, Laura accepted the position of chemistry teacher at OSUkeyeville Middle School. She was excited to be able to help her students learn about and understand this important science topic. After her first class, she quickly realized that she had a lot to learn and grow in this new role. She hit a lot of stride after her first year as a teacher and helped OSUkeyeville Middle School to achieve high recognition and success.In the fall of 2002, Laura accepted the position ofscience teacher at OSU M-1300 in Eugene. She was excited to be able to help her students learn about and understand this important science topic. After her first class, she quickly realized that she had a lot to learn and grow in this new role. She hit a lot of stride after her first year as a teacher and helped OSU M-1300 to achieve high recognition and success.Today, Laura is a science teacher and research scientist with a focus on environmental science and poisons. She is passionate about her work and has more than 20 years of experience in the field. Laura is a Dani and a member of PFC - a global scientist club. She also enjoys croquet and backpacking.
