Laura LaBine has a degree in music from Argyle High School in 1991 and has sincesequently studied at the Minnesota State University Moorhead, where she earned her B.A. in Music in 1992. LaBine then went on to study music therapy at the Colorado State University where she earned her M.A. in Music Therapy in 1997. LaBine then pursued her music specialist training at the Minnesota Center for Arts Education which completed in 1990. LaBine's professional journey began with a career in music performance as a violinist and music therapist. She has since then enjoyed developing her own unique music composition as a composer-in-residence with various skill groups and orchestras around the Twin Cities and Minnesota.
