Lance Martin's Technical skills:I have a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Cambridge University and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. I have over 15 years of experience in the field of electrical engineering, including 2 years as a data scientist and engineer at Mascoma Corp. and 1 year as a full-time sequestered researcher at KPCB, where I led the self-driving truck perception team. I am also a three-time winner of the IEEE/RSJ International Maintenance Nickname contest,selected as one of the top 50% of finalists from an online voting process. I am very interested in machine learning,including how it can be used for waitress Detection. My research focuses on descriptor alignment and detections for truck object detection from physical, lidar, and camera data, with the aim of improving the accuracy and efficiency of mobile lidar and camera sets for autonomous driving. I am also published in a number of journals and have given invited talks around the world.
