Hi I'm Lance,
I have worked in the startup world for over 7 years now. I am a hacker at heart. I think we've only just begun the trek of structuring the worlds information. And when we do, we'll be able to move mountains.
I code because the biggest impact I feel I can make in the world is helping people and companies implement disruptions. I can pick up new technologies quickly, and have used many languages in the past. I prefer to do anything JavaScript, but enjoy interfacing with any technologies.
Specialties: JavaScript and Front-end MVC frameworks, CoffeeScript, Node.js, Ruby on Rails, Cassandra, MongoDB, Neo4j, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, TDD, REST APIs, Documentation, Github, Heroku, Atom, Mac, Linux, and anything else full-stack Web App Development.

Lead JavaScript Engineer @ Booshaka built custom apps for brands to engage their customers directly through social media.
+ Acquired by Sprinklr in November, 2015.
+ Designed and implemented "Facebook app builder" framework in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
+ Worked a ton with the Facebook graph API, know it very well.
+ Improved dev productivity. Built apps in a modular way, as single-page apps.
+ Used custom and community JavaScript modules for Component.js and Node.js.
+ Lead team transition of all production code from SVN with Jira to Git on GitHub.
+ Worked closely with backend and API developers, using Groovy on Grails and later Scala, and raw SQL. From January 2013 to January 2014 (1 year 1 month) "Node.js Hacker" @ Reconnected with friend to experiment further with website builder platform. We love to code. Today, The Grid uses AI to automatically design websites.
+ Worked with lead designer and mobile dev to build blog engine in Node.js and CoffeeScript.
+ Did a lot of open source work. Built Tower.js in CoffeeScript in a couple of weeks, a client/server MVC framework with all batteries included, inspired by Rails.
+ Implemented hot-code reloading and client/server data syncing with MongoDB before Meteor existed, for more rapid development. Part of Tower.js with Design.io. From October 2011 to September 2012 (1 year) San Francisco Bay AreaTechnical Co-Founder @ Joined two real-estate brokers and graphics designer in starting a company called BigLobby, a loyalty program startup similar to https://bellycard.com.
+ Built the apps for browser (4 months), kiosk (2 weeks), iPad (2 weeks), and iPhone (1 week).
+ Used Rails 3, MongoDB, and Redis (caching) on backend; jQuery, Backbone.js (later switched to Spine.js), and PhoneGap on frontend. This meant everything used the same technology, increasing the rate and amount shipped.
+ Designed and built MongoDB analytics pipeline over a couple of weeks, to power vendor dashboard. Used to see customer transactions and metrics in real time.
+ Integrated dynamic maps, charts, and heat-maps to visualize customer data on dashboard.
+ Added RSpec unit tests, Selenium integration tests, and Cucumber specifications, which were automatically run on file change using Spork. This allowed for very rapid test-develop cycles.
+ Worked with graphics and product designers to translate visual mockups into HAML and SASS. From September 2010 to October 2011 (1 year 2 months) "ActionScript Hacker" @ Tried to survive with a longtime roommate from college, designing, building, and managing websites for local small businesses. Iterated on a website builder framework.
+ Learned ActionScript 3, Flex 4, and Ruby on Rails 2 on the job.
+ Designed and built UIComponent framework for Flex 4.
+ Designed and built a Flex 4 MVC framework, with ActionScript 3. Inspired by Reflux and the other flex frameworks at the time (Mate, Cairngorm, PureMVC, Parsley, Swiz, RobotLegs). From January 2008 to September 2010 (2 years 9 months) San Francisco Bay AreaScientist @ Worked with Scientists at LBNL doing DNA repair experiments for Dr. Tsai's lab (http://www2.lbl.gov/lsd/People_&_Organization/Scientific_Staff_Directory/Tsai_Lab.html).
+ Practiced cloning DNA, and running standard laboratory experiments.
+ Kept detailed lab notebook.
+ Read research papers related to each current project.
+ Decided I liked the models in the scientific papers more than the lab work, which introduced me to programming in ActionScript to visualize the models with Flash animations. From August 2006 to January 2008 (1 year 6 months) Scientist @ Helped PhD candidate Matthew Baggott run neuroscience experiments to understand perception. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/mattbaggott)
+ Learned how to setup an EEG experiment on a human subject.
+ Ran visual experiments on subjects to collect experimental data. From June 2006 to January 2007 (8 months) Information Architect @ Heard stories from nobel laureate George Smoot, who along with John C. Mather, sent the COBE satellite out that established the presence of the Cosmic Microwave Background radiation (CMB), which is the at the foundation of the Big Bang theory (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Smoot)
+ Worked with two undergrad physicists to add Flash animations to universeadventure.org, based on Dr. Smoot's stories. From January 2006 to May 2006 (5 months)
