I am currently a Sr. Software Engineer at Nexenta Systems where I am designing and building the Nexenta Edge Object Storage systems. I'm specifically focused on client-server interfaces, deduplication, system and object metadata, computational offloading, stack integration, performance characterization, analysis and accommodations for Peta/Exascale storage systems.
In the past, I was involved in research to design storage subsystems for the DoE Scalable Computing Laboratory at AmesLab and Argonne National Labs, this involved researching, designing, and benchmarking the entire storage subsystems at the Petascale (1,000,000's of clients).
In the future I would like to be involved in HPC I/O and storage subsystems at the Exascale and beyond.
Specialties: Research, HPC, design, I/O
Senior Software Engineer @ Core development team designing the Nexenta Edge Object Storage system.
Lead engineer focused on client-server interfaces, metadata management, deduplication, offloading, stack integration and overall performance analysis and optimizations for the system. From February 2014 to Present (1 year 11 months) Member of Technical Staff @ I worked with the Compiler and Host Tools groups to provide engineering support for WindRiver products and systems. From March 2009 to January 2014 (4 years 11 months) Greater Chicago AreaResearch Assistant @ Optimize/Troubleshoot parallel filesystem for client performance. Examine, test, benchmark storage servers and filesystems on scalability, storage layouts and network optimizations From August 2007 to June 2008 (11 months) SULI Intern @ Developed a two dimensional data storage/distribution algorithm for the PVFS2 filesystem to alleviate network contention at the Petascale. From May 2007 to August 2007 (4 months) Research Assistant @ Port PVFS2 communications library from VAPI to the OpenFabrics InfiniBand stack.
