Program Director – Established strategic relationships with startup founders, corporate and venture capital firms.
Portfolio Management – Sourced, evaluated and negotiated deals and spearheaded financial and business due diligence on 50+ startups to construct a high quality portfolio of 10 early stage companies for the 2014 cohort. Screened deals for market size, management team, competition, and exit opportunity. Collaborated to structure deals and negotiate term-sheets.
Technology Manager – Organized and led a team of eight product managers, designers and engineers across 10 portfolio companies in a fast-paced environment to deliver complex and time critical projects for senior business leaders. From March 2014 to December 2014 (10 months) Greater Chicago AreaSenior Manager, Product, Growth and Strategy - Consumer Experiences @ Led a team of eight across Chicago, Palo Alto and Seattle to integrate disparate technology platforms across the Groupon’s US and international businesses to standardize systems worldwide resulting in user acquisition to over 43MM customers
Led the launch of Groupon’s globalized commerce marketplace to 34 countries, increasing consumer-buying power and achieving year-over-year unit sales growth by 9% in 3Q2013 to 46M.
Headed corporate strategy efforts by collaborating with senior leaders across engineering, product management, marketing and business development teams to solve complex, cross-functional operational issues across product units.
Partnered with CEOs for corporate development initiatives leading to identification, evaluation, and execution of M&A and investment opportunities; performed industry and competitive analytical research.
Led post-close integration planning and execution phases of acquisitions such as Boomerang and Savored into Groupon’s consumer experience resulting in increased revenue of $5M in 3Q2013.
Established and rolled out better development practices for SaaS platform in order to improve productivity and product quality, including daily scrums, lean product development, code reviews, regular bug triaging and weekly code sprints.
Collaborated with VPs of Sales, Customer Support and Engineering teams to define the organization strategy and roadmap for fiscal year 2014 via formal presentations. Identified internal and external resources to help implement the strategy. From August 2012 to March 2014 (1 year 8 months) Software Engineering Manager, Windows 8, Microsoft Office and Dynamics Online @ Headed planning and execution of the Windows Store Developer Experience targeting a customer base of 400 million users and contributing to a revenue increase of $839M in 2012 and total revenue of $19.2B.
Launched the Dynamics Online commerce platform to the Microsoft partner network. Represented the 50-member team at the Microsoft Developers Build Conference (5000+ attendees).
Brought next-generation specification modeling methodologies, metrics and frameworks to a team of 30 engineers, resulting in effective problem-solving, reduced resource costs by 100% and in 50 man-days saved.
Hired and mentored three junior members; facilitated career development plans; two mentees were promoted in one year.
