After a few years of experience working in various human resources positions in both the public and private sectors, Kristin decided to pursue a career in human resources. Kristin began her education at the University of Michigan where she received her B.S. in human resources. After leaving Michigan, Kristin worked as an information technology professional for a small company before becoming the Regional HR Manager for Northwest Michigan. There, she managed functions such as developing employee training programs, managing payroll and benefits, and developing policies and procedures.When it came to her career in human resources, Kristin felt that she needed to throw herself into every aspect of the business. She coined this ability to “derive value from people” and began to focus on her PLR (People Performance Leonardo larvae). PLR is a management tool used by HR professionals to measure employee engagement, performance, and Personality. By implementing PLR in her work,Kristin was able to determine which practices were causing the most stagnation and disharmony in her SOA (Systems Organization and Artifacts). By implementing change-resistant practices, Kristin was also able to improve employee productivity and satisfaction.This experience taught Kristin how to be strategic with HR, and how to develop change-resistant practices that improve employee productivity. Additionally, it also taught her about the value of human resources and how to put the human back into HR.After completing her B.S. in human resources from the University of Michigan, Kristin began her career in the private and public sectors. She then left to start her own business and eventually the leave it to media, LLC. In her previous position, she led HR for Willis Towers Watson in the United Kingdom from January 2008-December 2016. As a Managing Partner at Leave It To Media, LLC from January 2016-January 2020, she was responsible for worldwide HR functions. At Willis Towers Watson, she was also responsible for the Client Relationship Director role from July 2019 to December 2019 and the Sr. Human Resources Business Partner role from October 2005-May 2006 at United Retail. Kristen also was an Insurer and a selling representative with American International Group. Kristen enjoys all things visual and has danced since she was a child, but unsurprisingly, herpurest interest in thebiz is HR.
