After a few years of experience working in various human resources positions in both the public and private sectors, Kristin decided to pursue a career in human resources. Kristin began her education at the University of Michigan where she received her B.S. in human resources. After leaving Michigan, Kristin worked as an information technology professional for a small company before becoming the Regional HR Manager for Northwest Michigan. There, she managed functions such as developing employee training programs, managing payroll and benefits, and developing policies and procedures.When it came to her career in human resources, Kristin felt that she needed to throw herself into every aspect of the business. She coined this ability to “derive value from people” and began to focus on her PLR (People Performance Leonardo larvae). PLR is a management tool used by HR professionals to measure employee engagement, performance, and Personality. By implementing PLR in her work,Kristin was able to determine which practices were causing the most stagnation and disharmony in her SOA (Systems Organization and Artifacts). By implementing change-resistant practices, Kristin was also able to improve employee productivity and satisfaction.This experience taught Kristin how to be strategic with HR, and how to develop change-resistant practices that improve employee productivity.
