From August 2005 to May 2006 (10 months) Research Intern @ Microsoft Research This was an internship position at Microsoft Research, Redmond where I worked in areas related to automated theorem proving. I worked on a new algorithm of combining traditional Nelson-Oppen style theorem proving with SAT Solver based Model Generation. It resulted in a journal publication. From May 2005 to July 2005 (3 months) Co-Founder & CEO | VP of Engineering @ Taro **Acquired by EAT Club**Taro re-imagines homestyle food for busy families by taking advantage of brand new distribution platforms like on-demand delivery and D2C food shipping, We targeted differentiated food focus (ethnic-inspired), and segmented approach to customer personas across D2C, Retail and On-Demand channels. - Built a consumer-facing product that represented authenticity, high quality, convenience, and affordability and delivered over 1,000,000 meals in 8 states on the West Coast- The initial product was a chef marketplace with consumer mobile apps (iOS and Android), driver-facing mobile apps and chef-facing web experience (Angular & React) and raised over $2.75MM in seed financing from Eileses Capital, Rajan Anandan (ex-MD of Google) and other marquee angel investors- Additional products included a successful subscription commerce service with over $5MM in revenue run-rate. Built the data infrastructure that drove conversion rate optimization (CRO) and ad spend optimization on Facebook, Instagram, Google, and Youtube as well as ongoing retention and engagement which led to 100% improvement in LTV/CAC- Led an all star team of over 40 full-stack FTEs based in San Jose, CA, and Bangalore, India that built the three mobile apps, REST APIs backed by NoSQL storage, CI/CD pipelines, as well as our Data Engineering infrastructure including Routing/Planning Algorithms, Data Analytics, and Reporting requirements- Successfully navigated the company through fundraising and strategic partnership discussions culminating in the eventual acquisition by EAT Club, Inc. From 2016 to 2019 (3 years) San Francisco Bay AreaCo-Founder, CTO | VP of Engineering @ Capillary Technologies Inc. Capillary’s technology solutions help omnichannel retailers drive insights from customer data to drive customer engagement, acquisition, retention and loyalty programs including real-time AI-driven point of sale interventions for increasing customer lifetime value. Clients like Pizza Hut, VF Brands, Walmart, Al-Futtaim, KFC, Starbucks, Madura Garments, Courts and Samsung have made Capillary Asia’s leading SaaS product company.- Built and managed a 100+ member product, engineering & design team to build one of Asia’s pre-eminent SaaS companies in the retail customer engagement space- Drove product strategy and engineering execution for Capillary’s growth to 300 million consumers, 300 marquee brands across 25,000 points of sale in 20+ countries on the Capillary’s platform. Led the teams that built our big data analytics infrastructure, full-stack consumer and business-facing assets, as well as necessary tooling for build/release pipelines and developer productivity. Capillary moved from a monolith to a microservices architecture under my leadership- Led internationalization, go-to-market, analyst relations and product strategy for new market expansion to Middle East and Africa (MEA) and North America (US). I work in the Programming Languages and Software Verification research group, and collaborate with some other research groups as well. The deliverables are technologies for greater consumption within Microsoft and research papers published in peer-reviews conferences and journals.Broadly, the projects I was involved in were:- Verification of Object Relational Maps- A programming abstraction for the collaborative internet- Abstract Interpretation and its use in finding bounds on temporal constraints and resource usage- Statistical debugging with profiling- Search techniques for artifacts of programming and debuggingThe stint was very valuable in terms of technical and organizational experience, and resulted in 5 papers and 6 patents From July 2006 to July 2008 (2 years 1 month) Director Of Engineering @ Cohesity Cohesity is a unicorn cloud data management company that is redefining the industry by radically simplifying the way companies protect, manage, and extract value from their data using a modern distributed hyper-converged infrastructure.
