From April 2008 to December 2009 (1 year 9 months) Design Manager @ Kirsten and her team of design business analysts at MYOB are committed to designing software that is user-friendly and increases customers’ efficiency and profitability by making their business processes easier. During her time at MYOB, Kirsten has implemented design and usability procedures that ensure her team are constantly challenged and customers achieve the best possible user experience. From June 2002 to March 2008 (5 years 10 months) User Experience Manager (Secondment from MYOB) @ Kirsten completed a 9 month secondment to Sensis as the acting User Experience / HCI Manager. Her mission was to establish a multi-disciplinary user-centered design team and to ensure best practice design and usability methodologies were applied throughout the Sensis product network. From July 2005 to March 2006 (9 months) Design and Usability Consultant @ Worked as an independent design, usability and feasibility consultant with a number of SMEs. - Analysed the viability of proposed projects, products or services, considering performance objectives expected by the organisation (concept testing). - Performed market assessments to determine the needs of the business and end users. - Determined the impact of new initiatives on key operational areas of the business such as distribution, finance HR, information systems, marketing, production, purchasing and research and development. - Performed stakeholder requirements definition where the customer's needs are articulated in relation to "look and feel", functionality and business requirements. - Performed user needs analysis to gather information about the context of use. - Performed heuristic evaluations (expert reviews) to assess a product against core usability criteria and established interface design standards. - Developed detailed usability testing plans and strategies. - Performed user based usability evaluations, testing products in the "real world" environment with the intended target market. From September 2001 to June 2002 (10 months) Product Manager @ This was a web tracking / campaign management Internet startup and was ultimately taken over by Red Sheriff. From February 2000 to September 2001 (1 year 8 months) Product Design Manager @ This Internet startup developed one of the first renovation portals ("Myspace") that was targeted at bringing consumers and “tradies” together. It also showcased products produced by Orica's subsidiaries (eg. Dulux Paints, Cabots, etc) by using 2D and 3D web-based visualisation tools. Funding was withdrawn when tradies were slow to embrace the Internet proposition (what a difference 7 years makes). From June 1999 to February 2000 (9 months) Senior Manager @ Progressed through a number of roles and was promoted to a senior management position before departing in June 1999. Worked in the US Office from 1996 - 1997. This is when I first started working on / managing Internet projects. Did a secondment to the AeB.N from 1998 to 1999. From November 1993 to June 1999 (5 years 8 months) Product Design Manager (Secondment from Ernst & Young) @ First joint Federal and State Government initiative to get small to medium enterprises into electronic commerce. I was responsible for designing "Internet Awareness" Workshops and personally delivered these to SMEs across Australia. I also worked with SMEs to help identify how their business processes could be made more efficient through the use of electronic commerce and the Internet.
