In 2001, Kimberly Vandrilla completed her undergrad degree in Communication Arts from Northern Illinois University. After a year of working as a station news reporter and a year of studio arts at local high school, she returned to college to complete her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts. After successfully completing her undergraduate degree, Kimberly Vandrilla began her career as a freelance artist. She enjoyed working as an artist for numerous local galleries and entered into freelance artist acquisitions. In 2002, Vandrilla began working as a graphic designer for a local paper company. She quit the company after just one year to pursue her career in advertising. Vandrilla worked as a freelance graphic designer for a variety of advertising agencies before landing her first job as a creative writer at a magazine. Vandrilla continued working as a creative writer for magazines until she moved to Boston in 2003. At Boston Common Magazine, Vandrilla worked for three years as a layout designer. She then moved to Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, working as a graphic designer for one year. In January 2008, Vandrilla transferred to EF Education, working as an art director for two months. In February 2007, Vandrilla joined Bonobos, working as a creative director for one year. From May 2017 to July 2017, Vandrilla was the creative director at Slice. Vandrilla exited Slice in February 2017 to become the Lead Visual Designer for Consumer Marketing at Trulia. Two years later, in August 2014, Vandrilla accepted a position as the Lead Visual Designer for Consumer Marketing at Trulia. In March 2010, Vandrilla began working as a graphic designer for a local paper company. She quit the company after just one year to pursue her career in advertising. Vandrilla worked as a freelance graphic designer for a variety of advertising agencies before landing her first job as a creative writer at Dashlane. In November 2004, Vandrilla transferred to Self-employed. She then worked as a creative & brand consultant at Self-employed for two years. Vandrilla completed her undergraduate degree in Communication Arts in 2018.

Kimberly Vandrilla's education has focused on education and the natural sciences. From her MA at Emerson College to her BA at Saint Joseph College, Vandrilla has spent her undergraduate career working within the field of education and natural sciences. Her research has shown that the use of digital media in the teaching of mathematics and science can be extremely beneficial for students and the teacher. Vandrilla has also begun to develop a practice of using technology to stimulate student learning. Vandrilla's work with digital media and technology in the classroom has helped her to become morebattle-tested and confident in her teaching strategy.Overall, since she started working as a teacher, Vandrilla has learned a great deal about the teaching strategies that work best for her classroom. Her education and experience in the natural sciences have allowed her to become a well-rounded teacher who is confident in her teaching style and knows how to utilizing digital media in the classroom to engage students.
