An accomplished Programme/Project Director for the creative and technical industries. An early career spent in London, Sydney and Melbourne in hands-on web development roles, specialising in crafting back-end code and planning and creating complex relational database systems gave me a solid technical grounding.
This soon grew into a lead developer role and then I started leading a multi-disciplined team of creative designers, animators and developers. It was in this role where I realised that scoping, planning and project management methodologies and processes are not that dissimilar to writing structured code and planning a relational database. A jump from the pure tech world to the world of marketing communications and advertising soon followed and this is where I quickly learned the challenges (and joy) of managing the creative process as well as managing client expectations and budgets.
Over the past 15 years I have managed programmes of work for brands from technical builds to cross-channel marketing campaigns that include film, radio and print. I am comfortable leading a team of project managers / producers and am also very hands-on when it comes to project management / delivery.
Programme Director - Freelance @ Setting up and managing the processes for the in-take of briefs, scoping and monitoring of project financials and team utilisation for 2 x programmes of work. This has been a very hands on role, with the PD as well as the mixed team of PMs each working on an average of 5 projects at any one time.
