Financial Strategy
Worked with Exar Corporation’s interim CEO to prepare complete financial strategy that improved company performance. Identified, formulated and presented three strategic directions to BOD. Subsequently, alongside new CEO, executed drastic restructuring that resulted in millions of dollars improvement in operating profit (7% vs. 2% loss) and increased earnings per share.
Inorganic Growth
Fully involved in completion of six acquisitions — including a merger of equals that more than doubled sales and tripled complexity at Exar Corporation. Completed subsequent integrations by adapting accounting procedures to an evolving business model without any breach in SOX internal controls.
Start-up
Member of management team that in four years built Wafer Tech to 1,200 employees and constructed a ~$1.5B wafer fabrication plant. Built accounting functions, implemented ERP system and established KPIs to support growth.
Accelerating Growth
Spurred revenue growth at VSLI Technology 39%+ through increased capital allocation to R&D investment in new products and development of IP cores and strategic pricing model.
Public Company Reporting
As Corporate Controller, led implementation of Exar’s initial compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, successfully instituting internal control structure.
